Fringe and Fray photoshoot //
Norfolk Bohemian Wedding Inspiration
Norfolk bohemian wedding
Whether you are planning your own bohemian wedding day or are just looking to get your bohemian bridal fix, here’s a beauty of a shoot for you to feast your eyes upon. This Fringe and Fray shoot was a total dream for me. I ‘m slightly obsessed with macrame, and it was great to collaborate with talented Norwich based fibre artist Jenny of Fringe and Fray for this styled shoot. Since the time we shot this (all the way back in February) I have learnt how to macrame myself. I’ve made my own plant macrame hangers after attending one of Jenny’s fabulous workshops she puts on! (if you are Norwich based I seriously recommend checking her workshops out!)
Taking inspiration from all things 70’s and laid back for the shoot, we pushed ourselves to come up with a really eclectic mix of elements that we all fan girl over. Our key points of inspiration came firstly in the shape of the awesome Macrame pieces. Macrame was hugely popular in the 70s and has seen a resurgence in the past couple of years. This meant Fringe & Fray’s pieces were our main starting point. We also had other talented artists involved including Mia Sylvia who is a textile artist, creating handmade and naturally dyed ethical fabrics and fashions. We therefore concentrated on tie-dye effects on the fabrics as a nod to our 70’s vibe.
Our location, The Crypt at St Andrews Hall in the centre of Norwich, is a great little secret venue. Medieval ruins topped with a glass roof with the outside finding it’s way in and lots of ivy and brambles cascading down the crumbly walls. If you are looking for an alternative space to say your “I DOs” I couldn’t recommend anywhere cooler in the middle of Norwich city!
Oops a Daisy Florists were in charge of the showstopping florals. We were keen to use bold pops of colour to go with a tropical theme and the oversized palm leaves were a must, giving us all the feels of someplace much warmer. On our shoot day, we couldn’t stop laughing because the shoot had been scheduled and planned for so long & we had managed to pick the day of England’s freeze over and the snow was never-ending! Making its way inside the building was a massive contrast to our tropical plans!
I am thrilled to say that this shoot was featured on the ever-awesome Rock My Wedding this month.
